Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-informed care is a foundational approach to mental health treatment that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma on an individual's life, development, and well-being. This approach prioritizes safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment—creating an environment where patients feel genuinely heard, respected, and in control of their own healing journey. Rather than asking "What's wrong with you?", trauma-informed care asks "What happened to you?"

With eight years of experience providing compassionate psychiatric care across the lifespan, I integrate trauma-informed principles into every aspect of treatment. I understand that past experiences—whether acute trauma, chronic stress, or adverse childhood events—can profoundly shape how individuals respond to treatment, relationships, and the world around them.

My practice emphasizes creating a safe, predictable environment where patients can explore their experiences without fear of judgment or re-traumatization. I work collaboratively with each individual, ensuring they have a voice in treatment decisions and full transparency about their care plan, medications, and therapeutic options.

The goal is not just symptom reduction, but helping individuals move from surviving to thriving—rebuilding trust in themselves, their relationships, and their future, all within a therapeutic space designed to support genuine healing.
