Insomnia

Insomnia is a common yet complex sleep disorder characterized by persistent difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early—despite having the opportunity for adequate rest. This condition extends beyond occasional sleepless nights; chronic insomnia can lead to daytime fatigue, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and impaired functioning at work, school, or in relationships. Often, insomnia coexists with or contributes to other mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or mood disorders.

With eight years of experience providing comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan, I offer specialized support for individuals struggling with insomnia and sleep disturbances. I understand how profoundly sleep affects every aspect of health—from emotional regulation and cognitive function to physical well-being and quality of life.

My evidence-based approach combines medication management when appropriate with practical, sustainable strategies to improve sleep hygiene and address underlying factors disrupting rest. I work collaboratively with patients to identify contributors to their insomnia—whether stress, anxiety, depression, medication side effects, or lifestyle factors—and develop personalized treatment plans.

Through trauma-informed, person-centered care, I help patients move beyond quick fixes to achieve lasting improvement in their sleep patterns. I provide education about the sleep-wake cycle, guidance on creating an optimal sleep environment, and support in developing healthy bedtime routines that signal the brain it's time to rest.

The goal is to help patients wake feeling genuinely refreshed and restored—improving not just their sleep, but their overall mental health, daily energy, and ability to fully engage in life.
